On the first day of our desert tour in Morocco, 4 days driver will swing by to pick you up from your accommodation in Fes at 8:00 am. You will head towards the Middle Atlas Mountains to reach the “Switzerland” of Morocco. It is considered to be a snowboarding/ skiing destination in winter. Then wind your way through the beautiful forests of Cedar in Azrou with a colony of monkeys that will keep you amused, jagged rock faces, and Berber villages as you cross the Atlas Mountains. Afterward, you will descend towards Midelt, which is situated between the High Atlas Mountains and the Middle Atlas. After lunch, we drive along the stunning Ziz valley passing by Kasbahs and palm groves. You will reach Merzouga at around 5 pm. Then drop you off at your accommodation. Overnight in Hotel with dinner and breakfast.
After your breakfast, you will discover this beautiful region of the Sahara desert. We visit the center of the fossil and the ancient city of Rissani. It was once home to the Alawite dynasty as they took power, as well as Moulay Rachid. It is a cultural destination in Morocco boasting beautiful examples of early Moroccan architectural styles and noteworthy palaces and temples, such as Ksar Oulad Abdelhalim. We see men wearing the indigo blue robes distinctive of the Saharan people. We will also visit Khamlia village where you will have the opportunity to listen to the Gnaoua music. Then later in the afternoon, departure of your caravan on the back of dromedary/camels across the desert during a beautiful sunset moment to reach your desert campsite for the night by the sand dunes of Erg Chebbi, either by Sahara 4×4 or Camels. Overnight in the Nomad bivouac tents, a night full of stars, Berber music. A night that you will never forget.
On day 3 of Morocco desert tours from Fes, Wake Up will be early to catch the sunrise over the dunes in the Sahara Desert, which is probably the best moment in the Morocco Sahara. You will once again take to your ship of the desert (your camel) and trek back to the hotel on the edge of the sand sea in Merzouga. Then start traveling to Erfoud as you set out behind the High Atlas Mountains by passing on nomad people. You will arrive at a spectacular Gorge, where you can take a walk-up in the towering Todra Gorges (600 feet high). The picturesque river valleys make for a beautiful journey towards the southeast of Morocco. Then, continue your journey towards another impressive gorge, Dades, passing the strange rock creation of Tamnalt Hills. Overnight in the heart of the Dades Gorges valley with dinner and breakfast.
On the last day of our Fes To Marrakech Desert Tour , After breakfast in your Riad Kasbah, you will set off towards the High Atlas Mountains via Roses Valley, and Ouarzazate to Marrakech. Tucked away in the High Atlas Mountains is one of the jewels of Morocco. Kasbah Ait Benhaddou, UNESCO World heritage. In typical Moroccan fashion, the true treasures must be searched out and discovered…usually off the beaten path. In actuality, this setting has been used for more films than any other location in Morocco; films including, Lawrence of Arabia, Jesus of Nazareth, and recently The Gladiator. Lunch can be taken at Ait Benhaddou. You will head over the Atlas Mountains to Marrakech in the afternoon, where we will drop you off at your Riad/Hotel. Enjoy your Morocco desert tour for 4 days.

The distance between Marrakech and Fes is 520 Km via the motorway through Casablanca and Rabat. If you choose to drive via the Middle Atlas Mountains and Beni Mellal , the distance is 570 Km. The drive through the Middle Atlas Mountains is more scenic, but you need to spare a full day to enjoy the itinerary. There is an even longer and more popular way to get to Fes from Marrakech: Through Merzouga and the Moroccan Sahara desert. It is 1030 Km, and it requires a minimum of 3 days.
You mainly need 2 days in Fes Morocco in order to fully explore it. A full-day guided tour of the Medina of Fes will introduce you to discover the hidden gems of the ancient Medina, and an extra day to explore the Souks on your own. Now, with the nearby blue city of Chefchaouen becoming more and more popular, you could add an extra day to do a full day trip of Chefchaouen from Fes ( 200 Km each way )
