Day 1 Marrakech – Atlas Mountains – Ait Ben Haddou – Ouarzazate – Dades Town

Your Marrakech to Merzouga Tour begins in the morning, driving through the stunning High Atlas Mountains. You’ll pass by traditional Kasbahs and Berber villages before reaching the UNESCO World Heritage site of Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou. After a delicious lunch near the kasbah, we’ll continue to Ouarzazate, the “Hollywood of Africa,” where you can visit Taourirt Kasbah and Atlas Film Studios, famous for movies like Game of Thrones. We’ll then head to Skoura and the Roses Valley before arriving at our hotel for dinner and an overnight stay. This day is filled with Morocco’s beautiful landscapes and rich history, setting the stage for the rest of your Morocco Desert Tour.

Day 2 Boumalne Dades – Todra Gorge – Erfoud – Merzouga

Our three-day Moroccan Desert trip to Merzouga continues after breakfast as we drive through roads lined with ancient kasbahs and Berber villages, heading toward the Toudra Gorges. Along the way, we will pass through Tineghir, a breathtaking valley of date palms, and marvel at the high grey and pink rock walls of the 300m-high canyons.

Next, we head towards the famous Erg Chebbi dunes in Merzouga, where you will enjoy lunch in Tinjdad. Upon arriving at the towering dunes of Erg Chebbi, you’ll embark on a one-hour camel ride, watching the sunset in the Sahara Desert. Afterward, we’ll head to a desert oasis where a traditional nomadic camp awaits. Spend the night in a bivouac under the stars or in a traditional tent, enjoying the serene beauty of the Sahara Desert. You can even join in a drum circle with our experienced camel guides for a truly immersive experience on this Morocco Desert Tour.

Day 3 Merzouga – Rose Valley – Ouarzazate – Marrakech

After enjoying the incredible sunrise among the sand dunes and having breakfast, you will ride your camels back to the Auberge.

You will then travel back directly to Marrakech, with a few stops along the way. Enjoy your lunch before continuing towards the red city of Marrakech, crossing the High Atlas Mountains and passing through the Tizi N’tichka pass (2260 meters in altitude). Upon arrival in Marrakech, you will be dropped off at your accommodation.

The distance between Marrakech and Fes is 520 Km via the motorway through Casablanca and Rabat. If you choose to drive via the Middle Atlas Mountains and Beni Mellal , the distance is 570 Km. The drive through the Middle Atlas Mountains is more scenic, but you need to spare a full day to enjoy the itinerary. There is an even longer and more popular way to get to Fes from Marrakech: Through Merzouga and the Moroccan Sahara desert. It is 1030 Km, and it requires a minimum of 3 days.

You mainly need 2 days in Fes Morocco in order to fully explore it. A full-day guided tour of the Medina of Fes will introduce you to discover the hidden gems of the ancient Medina, and an extra day to explore the Souks on your own. Now, with the nearby blue city of Chefchaouen becoming more and more popular, you could add an extra day to do a full day trip of Chefchaouen from Fes ( 200 Km each way )
